I run Windows 95.
I paid $18.95 a month for SLIP/PPP access on EPIX until
the end of November 1997, when I realized I was wasting my money, and started using PSU, my school account, without the monthly fee.
This thing cost about $2800 in August 1996.
It was bought from Gethysa Computers in Drums, PA.
Since I bought this computer, I've added:
- An EasyPhoto Imagewave flatbed scanner, so my old handheld scanner is for sale. Email me if interested.
- I also added 64 megs of RAM, which puts my total at 96MB!
- I got an internal zip drive.
- I put in an Intel Pentium 200 w/ MMX overdrive chip.
- I installed a 3Com Ethernet Network Interface Card so my computer is on our local area network (just in my apartment) with about 5 computers or so for gaming and file/printer/internet sharing. And also for our cable modem access with @home!
- I got a Maxtor 8.4 gig hard drive since my old Quantum 2.5 gig wouldn't cut it anymore. I would recommend both of these hard drives brands, I never had any problem with them. (along with Seagate, but I'm staying away from Western Digital)
- I've also upgraded my OS to Windows 98: Second Edition.
